Intea and Region Östergötland have signed a 15-year lease for 6,600 sqm of new premises, which will be the site for health care and research in close collaboration with Linköping University.

The new building, called Building C, will be constructed in the northern part of the Garnison district in the Skvadronen block opposite the hospital area. The building consists of six floors, including a basement. The region is leasing the entire building of more than 6,600 sqm, with a preliminary annual rental value of SEK 13.5 million. The project aims to certify the building to BREEAM Excellent standard.

The premises will contain two clinics. One for ophthalmology, which will be an outpatient department offering diagnosis and treatment, and one for speech therapy, for assessing and treating language, speech and voice disorders. The premises therefore have stringent acoustic environment requirements.

An estimated 130 people will work in the new building and 350–400 patients will visit the clinics each day. The planned occupancy date is set for the first quarter of 2023.

"Region Östergötland's vital services will have premises of the highest quality in terms of functionality, design and sustainability. After almost two years of intensive work together, we’re all looking forward to breaking ground on this project," says Johan Elwing, Managing Director of Intea Garnisonen.

The Skvadronen block is designed to blend in with the rest of the Garrison site’s architecture and Building C will be attached to the existing neighbouring Buildings A and B.
