The journey from industrial establishment to key feature of the university campus today has involved work on a major scale, with the entire interior being removed to create space for new areas. The brick façade and the roof have been opened up for windows similar to those that existed in 1947. New ceiling lanterns have been installed to bring more light into the building. Inside the brick façade, five new floors have been created and equipped with sustainable systems for heating, cooling and ventilation.
