Fanan 62 is a 1945-built workshop establishment, typical of its time, that Intea and partner Fragerus Fastigheter have converted into more than 10,400 sqm of modern teaching facilities for Halmstad UniversityThe building meets today’s requirements for certification to Environmental Building Silver standard. The journey from industrial establishment to key feature of the university campus today has involved work on a major scale, with the entire interior being removed to create space for new areas. The brick façade and the roof have been opened up for windows similar to those that existed in 1947. New ceiling lanterns have been installed to bring more light into the building. Inside the brick façade, five new floors have been created and equipped with sustainable systems for heating, cooling and ventilation.
